The project, "The Reincarnation of Peter Proud," is a remake of a 1973 novel by Max Ehrlich, which had been made into a movie in the mid-1970s on an adaptation by Ehrlich himself. The plot follows a college professor trying to make sense of disturbingly realistic dreams, only to find out they are memories of a past life.
Apart from the original SE7EN creative team, Fincher and Walker, Michael De Luca is on board producing with Fincher. Since Fincher is involved in shooting THE SOCIAL NETWORK right now, there is no news so far as to when this new project will move forward or even go into production.

What do you guys think?
These are most welcome news!! Finally something to look beyond the shoddy project "The Social Network" and anticipate going to see a Fincher film again. If my memory serves me right, this project has been in development for a loooooong time... see chapter "Future projects" in the book "Dark Eye" (who knew there's now a revised 2nd edition of that book?), first published in 2003.
ReplyDelete(Cartman's voice): Guys! Guys! They've listened to me!! The Fight Club 10th Anniversary Edition on Bluray now comes without the gay blue enclosure... http://www.amazon.com/Fight-Club-Blu-ray-Edward-Norton/dp/B001992NUQ/ref=pd_sim_b_1
So fincher , so buddhist ..
ReplyDeleteSounds a bit like STAY, the movie he dropped out of and passed on to Marc Forster.
ReplyDeleteIs it just me or does the title "The Reincarnation of Peter Proud" have somewhat of a "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" touch?
ReplyDeleteMaybe Fincher now picks his projects by title?
Awesome news! Walker & Fincher are the best!!
ReplyDeleteStarring Brad Pitt as Peter Proud?
ReplyDeleteVery interesting news. Can't wait to see this one!
ReplyDeleteEsto si, fincher, esto si
ReplyDeleteSee The Reincarnation of Peter Proud on VHS--it never made it to DVD. Critics generally panned it--but virtually everyone else I knew really liked it. The original 1975 is quite dated......the remake will be welcomed by this "Peter Proud" fan.
