Zodiac Scribe To Write Spiderman 4

As we all know: Fincher news comes very slowly. And since he is buried in post-production on BENJAMIN BUTTON it seems there is barely anything new to report out there. It's about time the first teasers and trailers and articles and reports and reviews for this upcoming masterpiece start emerging!

Anyhow. For the time being there is good news on the writer's front:
It is being reported that screenwriter James Vanderbilt, of "Darkness Falls", "Basic", "The Rundown" and most recently "Zodiac" has been hired to write the 4th installment of the Spiderman franchise.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Vanderbilt was chosen by Sony for the fourth installment because of his character-driven approach to the story, rather than a focus on special effects.

And yes, this also sounds like good news, since the third part of the series felt a little overloaded to some (me included).

Not that there were any real hope out there for David Fincher ever to return to a franchise-movie ... but seeing him do a SPIDERMAN would certainly thrill! We can dream, can't we?
