House Of Cards: Direct Address

Fincher says Francis Underwood's direct addressing of the audience in House of Cards gives the viewer 'private time with Machiavelli'. Well, National Public Radio (NPR) now gives fanatics some private time with Spacey and Fincher. A just-under-40-minutes audio interview you should definitely listen to... before or after your inevitable netflix marathon.

  4. OK, I watched the first two episodes. It's official. Fincher is a god of Movies, Commercials, Music Videos and now... the TV Series.

This show is a pure Fincher gold. I absolutely love it!!

  5. "Suit & Tie" will be the first single from Justin Timberlake's new album, to be released March 19th. We should expect Fincher's video for it days or even weeks before this date.

  8. I finished HoC, here are some random thoughts. Spoiler free :)

Kevin Spacey, once again, proves that he is one of the greatest actors of all time. I won't even try to describe how good he is in this series. You all know he is a genius :) But I will describe Francis Underwood, in one word: Unpredictable. Most of the time you won't know what he is up to. Sure, he will address the audience, explain what he is doing at the moment... but he will still surprise you :)

Robin Wright's character, Claire, is an enigma. She is an equal to Francis. Evil and cold... but there is more to her. There might still be some good in her... but I truly can't figure her out :P Together with with Francis they make a fascinating couple. Robin Wright is perfect in this role.

Peter Russo played by Corey Stoll. He is the biggest surprise. His storyline is the most emotional. Stoll gives a great performance, this role should skyrocket his career. He is paired with Kristen Connolly and their characters are the most likeable... which is a rare thing in this series :P

If I had to pick the weakest link, it'd probably be Kate Mara and her character, Zoe. She is sexy, for sure (which was distracting ;) ), but she also looks so fragile, like a little girl. To tell you the truth I didn't buy her as a reporter. She wasn't bad, but in comparison to others... she was weaker.

Technically the show is of highest standards. I was happy to see that the other directors also did a great job. Fincher set the bar very high and they kept it there. Kudos to them :) The writing is amazing. Dialogs are smart and for the most part cliché-free. The whole story was very interesting and well thought-out. The editing was great and the pacing was perfect.

A must see show for Fincher-fanatics.
