Severe fandom may lead to overreactions and misinterpretations. I am aware of that. However, I just love to recognize these unique ways in which a director sees and shows things, and well -- ... especially so with the master, David Fincher.
In his 1987 video for "Johnny B" pay close attention to the very second shot, watch the trailer for ZODIAC right after that -- and tell me, it's not THE EXACT SAME BASEMENT SHOT?!! Once you get past the 80's haircuts in this one, you will see some more fincheresque trademarks, especially some very strong editing!
It seems to me, this song still gets a lot of airplay, although it never went higher than #61 on the Billboard Charts ... -- Amazing.
